HPLC Column Oven | L-2300

Improve reproducibility, peak shape, and resolution with the easy-access LaChrom Elite Column Oven.

The Model L-2300 Column Oven incorporates new technology that provides superior temperature stability and reduces thermal gradients resulting in greatly enhanced performance. Peltier heating and cooling allow short equilibration times.

In addition, solvent is preheated prior to reaching the column which results in stable temperature inside the column. System connectivity ensures that sample injections are made only when temperature has been reached. Front-panel access makes it easy to install up to 3 HPLC columns. An optional column switching valve can also be installed inside the column oven.

  • A new design provides increased isolation from changes in room temperature.
  • Documentation of temperature throughout the analysis is maintained.
  • Able to monitor room and oven temperatures.

Application Notes

  • 20100209

Amino acid analysis is an important technique involved in a wide range of bioanalytical applications including protein and peptide analysis, quality assessment of foodstuffs and clinical diagnosis of metabolic disorders.  Historically, this technique has been performed on highly specialized chromatographic systems dedicated for comprehensive  (up to 50-plus components) and quantitative amino acid analysis.

Using the Prep-24 Dual Piston Pump System for Analysis of Parabens with the Hitachi LaChrom Elite® Liquid Chromatography System

The Prep-24 pump manufactured by Scientific Systems, Inc. was used in analytical mode, along with the Hitachi HPLC system, to analyze a four-component mixture of parabens. The Prep-24 system, running in analytical mode, showed data that was suitable, reproducible, and linear.

  • Tranditional HPLC method development involves highly skillful, exerienced, knowledgeable, and intuitive operators to generate efficient separation methods. This is often a time-consuming endevor that does not always produce the best possible separation results in spite of the best efforts. Automated method development (AMD) with the Hitachi LaChrom Elite (LCE) HPLC system in conjunction with ChromSword Auto (CSA) provides a unique AMD system that will separate multi-component systems effortlessly, accurately, and with significant savings in both time and costs for the methoddevelopment.

  • Routine development of multi-component 'Fast Liquid Chromatography' (Fast LC) applications are rapidly and easily accomplished by integrating (a) the new Hitachi LaChrom Elite HPLC system, (b) Automated Method Development tools (ChromSword AUTO), and (c) Hitachi Chromolith monolithic reversed-phase columns. These Fast LC applications allow for high-throughput analyses leading to a significant reduction in run times contrasted to conventional C18 particulate column run times by several-fold.

Simultaneous Analysis of Quercitrin, Isoquercitrin, and Hyperoside on the Hitachi LaChrom Elite® Liquid Chromatography System

This application note describes the simultaneous analysis of three flavinoid compounds in the quercetin family. The peaks are well-resolved, and the method shows excellent reproducibility, linearity, and system suitability for the three analytes. The analysis was accomplished on a Hitachi LaChrom Elite® Liquid Chromatography System equipped with a Phenomenex Luna (2) column.

Analysis of Vitamin E Acetate on the Hitachi LaChrom Elite® Liquid Chromatography System Using the SofTA 400 ELSD Detector

Vitamin E (tocopherol) is a common antioxidant formulated into topical remedies. The acetate form of alpha-tocopherol is used as a standard analyte for the evaporative light scattering detector (ELSD). The goal of this study was to show reproducibility and suitability in detecting Vitamin E Acetate on the Hitachi LaChrom Elite® liquid chromatography system using the SofTA 400 ELSD detector.
